Our luxuriously-appointed newly-built Canada Select 5 Star-rated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage plus 3 bed and 1 bathroom bunkhouse with stellar wood-fired cookhouse is located in the heart of the Points East Coastal Drive region near Souris, PEI. Indulge yourself in the comforts and unique amenities of this peaceful and private retreat and absorb the outstanding scenery and views while you explore the wonderful surroundings of the eastern tip of beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada.
The Cottage
As you walk up the boardwalks to the front doors of this brand new cottage, the all-glass foyer welcomes you with ocean views to set the stage for your stay. Accommodating up to 12 people with complete comfort, our modern cottage will continue to amaze you with an open living great room concept and expansive ocean views through the 16 feet of glass doors overlooking Little Harbour Beach and Red Point! Set on 2.5 oceanfront acres with beautiful diverse views in all directions this private location has so much to offer for your perfect Prince Edward Island vacation.
Miles of white sand shallow water beach await your presence on the South-facing Little Harbour Beach and Bird Sanctuary area. The following photo details the location of the cottage and the short walk to the beach access stairs which put you right on the beach.
The Great Room
Designed for families, entertainment and an outstanding culinary experience, the main cottage Great Room offers an expansive space for family and friends to enjoy each other's company and time together, with the ability to comfortably seat 12 together at a single table for meals without sacrificing any detail. Massive 18-foot vaulted ceilings with large beams create an amazing open feel that is brought together with coordinated, high-end designer furniture that creates a charming, welcoming cottage experience in the most comfortable way possible!
The gourmet kitchen consists of Wolf, Sub-Zero and Thermador appliances including built-in refrigeration throughout, dual dishwashers and a stunning 10-foot chef's island. KitchenAid ProLine appliances provide countertop conveniences including Nespresso coffee and espresso. Top of the line German-made WMF, Woll and Fissler cookware and Messermeister chef's knives provide the best possible culinary tools for your enjoyment.
Enjoy the sounds of the majestic PEI ocean waves and wind as you relax and read a book or enjoy a cocktail on our 1500 square foot deck. With two covered deck areas including mosquito curtains and a fire table, you and your guests will be assured of total comfort regardless of what the elements may throw at you.
Built-in audio entertainment throughout the great room and covered deck is easily and readily accessible via your preferred Bluetooth-enabled device. For those family movie nights, slide open the barn doors above the fireplace to reveal the 55" 4K Sony TV with Polk Audio surround sound for a theatre-quality movie experience the whole family will love.
The Bedrooms
Separated from the great room by the enclosed all-glass foyer, the cottage sleeping quarters are an escape from the entertainment area to ensure peace and quiet regardless of how late the festivities go! Luxurious king and queen top of the line mattresses in the three air-conditioned full bedrooms ensure complete comfort and rest regardless of the weather. Satisfy your entertainment cravings with satellite TV, high-speed satellite Internet, Apple TV, Netflix and over 200 in-cottage movies on demand in all bedrooms so there is no need to argue over what to watch.
Equipped with plenty of linens for your stay and beach towels for those long days enjoying the incredible beaches, our top quality Bosch laundry will handle any washing needs during your stay. Rowenta iron and ironing board makes ironing a breeze.
With Kohler bathroom fixtures throughout, you can enjoy the pleasure of the look and function, and more importantly, the feel of quality. Great features include a whirlpool jetted tub and separate shower in the main bathroom, and a double vanity and double shower with window in the master ensuite. Open the window and experience stunning ocean views while you enjoy your morning shower! The master ensuite features a separate water closet for that little bit of additional privacy.
Lastly, we have included a large outdoor shower that allows you to get the kids and the whole family cleaned up after those long beach days or enjoy an "Al Fresco" experience of your own!
The Bunkhouse
Designed to handle additional guests beyond the comfort of the three bedroom cottage, the bunkhouse provides extremely comfortable air-conditioned sleeping and bathing quarters for up to six additional guests, bringing the total accommodation to 12 in queen and king sized beds - no pull-out sofas or cots needed here!
Three queen beds also with high-end mattresses in cozy sleeping nooks appointed with reading lights, electricity and phone chargers give you all the conveniences you need for an enjoyable read and relaxation before bedtime. A fully equipped bathroom in the bunkhouse includes shower, bringing the total to 4 on the property. Plenty of built-in storage for clothing and luggage make your stay as clutter-free and cozy as can be.
Guests can entertain themselves in the bunkhouse sitting area with TV, Apple TV, Netflix, in-cottage movies on demand and high speed satellite Internet. There is even a kitchenette with built-in refrigeration for drinks and coffee to help you start your day.
The Cookhouse
For the truly adventurous or self-proclaimed grill lovers, this is a very special experience! Broaden your experience or test your grilling skills on our authentic custom-built Argentinian Parilla wood-fired grill, wood-fired pizza oven and wood-fired smoker! The Argentinian Parilla grill uses a wood burning "brasero" to provide you with constant supply of coals that can be raked or shovelled under the large 8 square foot cooking area as needed. The clever V-groove shaped grill grates virtually eliminate flare ups as grease from food drains into the groove and flows down the angled grill into the grease trap. From here, it collects and readies itself for you to baste your meats to bring out the best possible flavour. You can control the heat and thus the pace of cooking by raising or lowering the grill with the cranking wheel located above the grill. If you have never cooked on birch or maple hardwood, the flavour and aroma is absolutely incredible!
The all-brick wood-fired pizza oven allows you to make the most amazing pizzas in the Napoletana style. Thin-crust, quickly cooked pizzas with the freshest ingredients cannot be beaten when cooked with the aromatic birch and maple hardwoods. Prefer less preparation? Simply use the pizza oven as a regular oven to cook a store-bought pizza, roast some garlic and bake some brie to enjoy by the fire. You will not believe the flavours!
The large wood-fired smoker provides up to 5 racks of simultaneous smoking space. Best used as a "hot smoker", roast and smoke large prime ribs, roasts, and even smoked baked potatoes! Whatever your fancy, our amazing outdoor wood-fired experience will satisfy your cravings and make you the star of the show for your guests!
The best part is that you get to enjoy your experience outside as the cookhouse is fully covered from the elements and shielded from pesky mosquitoes. So regardless of the weather, you can enjoy preparing, cooking, eating and entertaining in the cookhouse, seating up to 24 guests comfortably.
Afterwards relax by the large fireplace or mingle on the adjoining deck until the wee hours. Seasoned and split brasero-ready birch and maple hardwood is ready for your use.
The Beaches
A number of beautiful beaches await your visit. Access the outstanding Little Harbour Beach and bird sanctuary with safe walking access just 300 metres from our cottage! Enjoy this seemingly endless child-friendly shallow beach that families can explore and enjoy all day long. An ocean stream meanders inland and offers a shallow playful experience for young children with sandy banks and plenty of exploring. Parents can sit close by in the sunshine on white sandy beaches and take the occasional dip to cool off, or float down the stream with the casual current.
Feel like a walk? Stroll the 3 kilometres (2 miles) of white sand from our cottage to famous Red Point Provincial Park, or choose a short 10-minute drive to get there instead. A 12-minute drive from our cottage will lead you to the world famous Singing Sands beach at Basin Head Provincial Park, consistently ranked as one of the top beaches in Canada! Stop by the Souris Beach Gateway Park, just a 7 minute drive and experience the beach and local activities to spend your day enjoying kayaking or kite-boarding rentals, fresh lobster, mussels and clams, or relax and soak up some sun and eastern PEI culture.
Dining
Dining near Souris offers a wide range of options, from quick and casual to fine dining. You can quickly drop into Shirley's Place for quick take out and ice cream treats for the family. Fresh lobster rolls and other seafood can be found at the Lobster Shack on Souris Beach. Family restaurant favourite Bluefin offers breakfast and all day licensed dining options. Feeling a little fancier, stop by the "must-try" 21 Breakwater for a delicious dining experience. All of these are within a 7 minute drive from our cottage.
Holy Cow in Morell is a little further but offers the best burgers around! Stop in for Wing Night for an extra special treat. For fancier dining visit The Inn at St. Peter's about a 25 minute drive but well worth it! If you are planning well ahead, make reservations at world famous Chef Michael Smith's Fireworks at The Inn at Bay Fortune, a unique wood-fired feast experience you will never forget! If visiting Cavendish, plan to enjoy the one and only Pearl Eatery in North Rustico. Reservations well in advance are recommended.
Activities
This location ensures you are well poised for a wide range of classic Prince Edward Island activities including world renowned Bluefin Tuna fishing, the ultimate game fishing experience! Prefer something a little calmer? Try a clamming or whale watching adventure with a local charter. Or maybe you are catching the ferry to Les Îles de la Madeleine? Souris Harbour is a quick 7 minute drive and you will be on your way in no time. Visit the Elmira Railroad Museum and take the family on a beautiful miniature railway ride through the trees and hills of this beautiful property. Also stop by the historic East Point Lighthouse for a tour of a classic lighthouse and learn the history of these amazing structures and the important roles they played. See the famous confluence of three tides at the island's most easterly point, as the Atlantic Ocean, the Northumberland Strait, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence come together in this unique location.
Golf
Plan to enjoy PEI's outstanding golf courses and choose from world class Brudenell & Dundarave, Links at Crowbush or Avondale Golf Course, each just 45 minutes away. Fox Meadow, Belvedere and Stanhope, while a little further at about 60 minutes, are well worth the drive.
Anne of Green Gables
Located in Cavendish, a 90 minute scenic drive from our cottage through the rolling hills and quaint townships of Prince Edward Island that will leave an impression of the island you will not soon forget. While there, you can enjoy the family fun at Sandspit Amusement Park, Shining Waters family fun and water park or numerous other family activities.
Nicole and Steve recently completed construction of this property in the Summer of 2017. As virtually all friends and family who have visited this wonderful property have said they fell in love with everything about it, we know you will too!
